Kathy's career history before network marketing included high school teaching, financial planning, managing a tri-state office for a national investment firm and finally owning an investment company. Although she was very successful in the investment business, running her own company left little time to enjoy her success or the freedom to travel. At that time one of her clients was Paula Pritchard, a successful network marketer. Kathy was network marketing as a way to buy back her freedom.

While pursuing her doctorate degree at Kent State University, Paula Pritchard became disillusioned by the ability to advance financially in the academic world. With a bachelors and masters degree already under her belt, she was working on her PhD when she decided to attend her first network marketing meeting.
